...new song I just heard on the Current. Bomb.
Wow, this has been the week of all weeks! Lie, I've had way busier weeks. But Wednesday was the Microeconomics exam of death and I don't know if I'll make it to bed tonight. I have to edit my policy memo proposing a universal pre-K program in MN and that involves lots of source-searching and blah blah blah. Oh, Anna, when will you learn to work ahead? I am looking forward to a weekend like I am looking forward to summer, which is A LOT!
Let's see, what has been on my mind lately? My dangerous independence which makes it hard for me to incorporate others into my life. I am rather selfish with my time and priorities, I find. I went to praise last night (so good!) and we sang my favorite praise song. "Not to Us", Chris Tomlin: "Not to us, but to Your name, be the glory." So true. That's what it's all about.
Finished Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger. Such a good book! Every single time I read it, it is an entirely different book. I get something out of it each time--something deep. I swear it just sits there on my shelf until I am in need of some divine message then BAM! like Emeril it just pours out the wisdom to me! The message I got this time was to focus on being detached from material and concrete things. Brilliant. It's such a treat to be able to read for fun!
Hmm...what to pick off the shelf next? I saw a great seafaring tale on a shelf in the library the other day whilst browsing the stacks. We'll see.
Well, this weekend is gonna be crammed with homework, homework, homework. Summer is just around the corner and it's getting sunny, though you can never predict Minnesota's fickle ways during the spring so I'm not keeping my hopes too high.
